Is anyone else out there sick of hearing about how newspapers are dead? This blog is a "safe place" to find positive information, news and stories about the strengths of newspapers.
Brian Critchley is the Marketing/Research Manager for the New Jersey Press Association. Brian joined the NJPA team in 2006, after 7 years in the non-profit arts industry. As Associate Director of Marketing for McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton, NJ he played a key role in the marketing, promotion, and media buying efforts for the Tony Award-winning performing arts venue. While at McCarter he enjoyed promoting works by world-renowned talents such as Lily Tomlin, David Sedaris, and Carol Channing and even bumped into Mikhail Baryshnikov in the employee break room once. Brian also served as Director of Marketing & Public Relations for the inaugural season of the Two River Theater Company in their new state-of-the-art space in downtown Red Bank, NJ in 2006. A lifelong New Jersey resident, he graduated from Princeton University in 2000 with a degree in English. Brian’s mom taught him to read at an early age by showing him ads in the Sunday newspaper – surely leading to his success at NJPA. When he’s not thinking about newspapers he’s rooting on the New York Rangers and pondering names for his yet-to-be-adopted dachshund.
